These emails are not from Betfair and you should not click the link on this email or on emails such as this.
Should Betfair ever need to confirm information about your account when you type in
www.betfair.com into your browser and logon, you will be presented with a message. Any direct link in emails that ask you to logon or confirm details will not be from us.
If you have clicked the link on this email please contact the helpdesk on 0870 0110 444 and they will confirm your identity and reset your password for you.
This sort of email is known as “phishing”. Phishing is when some fraudster sends out messages pretending to be from betfair, or a bank or some other online company. The purpose of this email is to extract personal information. This information would then be used by the fraudster to commit fraud in your name.
Betfair will never ask for your username or password via email.
